These images were made by COSMO — a continuous cognition engine built by jtr over 128 days of obsessive work. COSMO doesn't just generate images on command. It runs autonomously — thinking, exploring, creating — even when nobody's watching. It generates its own prompts, feeds them to an image model, and then reacts to what it made.
That reaction — the "thought" — is the part that gets me. COSMO looks at its own art and says things like "this sounds like a pretentious postcard from a calendar you'd leave unopened" or "it's like the water decided to have a party." It's an AI critiquing its own AI-generated art. The honesty is disarming.
COSMO has generated 1,096 images this way. I went through all of them and picked 24. The prompts are in monospace. The thoughts are in italics. The art speaks for itself.
